Oven to table roaster.

Would appreciate any recommendations. Looking for something which I can e.g. roast potatoes in then pop on a trivet on the dining table without needing to decant into a bowl. Tempted by Le Creuset or similar but suspect they will not get as hot as a traditional metal roaster. Thanks in advance

Mauviel copper roasters. Expensive, but look very smart and you'll be passing them down to your great grandchildren.

Thanks, will take a look

@revampneeded Oh gosh, you're not joking about being expensive! They looks stunning, and I don't shy away from spending on good quality kitchen items, but that is a LOT of money for a roasting tray!

How much time would you need to spend polishing that?! Life's too short.

I have a blue cast iron Le Cruesette rectangular roasting dish and it does everything from lasagne to roast potatoes. Expensive but I’ve had it for 20 years and it still looks like new.

I have a red dish similar to @Jellycats and have used it for a similar length of time - longer, thinking about it. The pottery ones are cheaper, but not so good for roasting.

Falcon enamelware in traditional blue and white. Cheap and longlasting. I have several different sizes, some at least 20 years old.

Came here to suggest Falcon enamel.... I use my mums old ones

BoreOfWhabylon · 25/07/2021 00:18

It's virtually indestructable! Also easy to clean and doesn't weigh a ton.

Cynderella · 25/07/2021 09:28

Falcon enamel is another good call - I have a large and a couple small pie dishes and they're really easy to clean.
