Mouldy hammock

We've recently moved house and inherited a massive wooden framed hammock. The fabric itself though is quite mouldy. I've sprayed and scrubbed with white vinegar, then washed with Stardrops and rinsed. Today I've scrubbed it with dilute bleach and rinsed off.

It looks a lot cleaner than it did, but still lots of black mould spots. It's drying out in the sun, where it will stay this week until the rain.

Any magic products or hints that I could tackle it again tomorrow ... I'm thinking of one last go... I've got some OxiAction ...?

Thanks for any ideas

If you can get a pressure washer to it that will get rid of any black mould spots that are left.

Oh I came here as I thought the heading was some sort of euphemism. Blush

But with regards to the problem I would consider replacing the fabric, perhaps with a deck chair material.

Thank you both.

@pastabest - I will try that as need to borrow a jet wash for the patio, so I can give that a go, thank you.

@twoleftsockswithoutholes that made me laugh, and no just a literal mouldy hammock! Grin

Oxalic acid is what you need

This will dissolve black mould spots in unsealed wood.

They use it to clean ship decks/woodwork.

Readily available though.

Thank you, it's in the fabric, rather than the wood. To be honest, bleach and scrubbing has got rid of most of it now and not bothered about the small bits left.

Thank you though
