Wooden Salad Bowl

Any tips please for cleaning a wooden salad bowl ?
I inherited it from an aunt and is over 30 years old.
She always just gave it a quick wash with Fairy liquid.
It's a bit sticky and I'd like to get rid of the stickiness.

Have you tried the fairy liquid? It’s the best think for breaking down grease which might be what’s feeling sticky?
Dry it thoroughly when it’s clean and rub in a layer of oil to protect the wood (food oil if you’re intending to eat from it)

Rub it with olive oil.

I just wash mine up,rinse it and dry it. Never had any problems.

Thank you for your help.
I have used Fairy Liquid ( as I always do ) but it's still a bit sticky. I'll let it soak.

Does this thing have sentimental value? I really don’t think it’s going to make your salads taste any nicer.

Don't soak it, it'll just get soggy. Bit of olive oil on kitchen roll should sort it out.

Google suggests rubbing with a cut lemon or 1 part white vinegar to 5 parts water

Thank you
