Talk to me about Feng Shui

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, I've done a quick Mumsnet search and all the posts on Feng Shui are from a few years ago. Is anyone here still using it to organise/arrange your home?

I'm very new to it (as in, since yesterday!) but I came across an article online and then rearranged my home office yesterday afternoon, my office is in the wealth corner of my home. I have just had a phone call from my husband to tell me he's been given a pay rise, plus a one off bonus and an ongoing business opportunity... Not to take all the credit but I can't help thinking my little reshuffle yesterday helped move things along! So now I'm totally on board with Feng Shui and want to do the whole house!

Any tips? What has worked for you?

I have looked at it before and even if you discount the good fortune/bad luck stuff I think people should use it as a design concept to organise their rooms as it seems to make sense.
Even colour schemes for north facing rooms as opposed to south facing rooms is always useful.
I have been into too many houses where sofas are blocking doorways or beds should be along a different wall. In my mind saying not to put a sofa in-front of your French windows seems very sensible.

I can't help feeling there's something in it. We knocked a hole in a wall once to improve the space and view and it was as if the money tap had been turned off at the mains (two self-employed people). Made some Feng Shui adjustments, and all was well again, almost immediately. It involved blocking the flow of wealth between two external doors with a small round mirror and a (tiny) faceted crystal ball. Call me superstitious, but I wouldn't move them!

Do you really think here's something in it? A friend of mine was aghast at our bedrooms years ago, because the beds faced the doors (not directly, but pointing in that direction).
I moved them, superstitious numpty that I am, but they worked better before and I don't quite dare move them back Confused

I think that it does work as I have heard a couple of people anecdotally say things have been better since rearranging their stuff. Although they could have been better if they hadn’t done anything as there is no way of testing it.

I did once try and look at things but I got confused by it all.
Might try again as my life is a complete disaster area at the moment.
