Flies!

Please tell me how you get rid of them, I hate them in the house.

I have no kitchen bin.. everything goes straight outside into the wheelie bin. No pet bowls. Nothing on worktops. But still I get flies!

I can't stand the thought of flypaper 🤢. What stops them coming in?

Venus flytraps have helped this year. Might invest in a few more!

Basil plants on the windowsills, fly screen on the door (magnetically clips shut), planting lavender and mint in the garden under the windows, and a commercial UV light fly zapper.

And NONE are working that well!!!

But hey, at least we're trying. Good luck!

I am actually considering those fancy fly/midge screens you can have installed. They slide over the opened window creating an impenetrable screen that allows you to have fresh air without the bugs. Sadly my bank account says "No, OhRene, get a fly swatter from the pound shop."

Keep those doors / windows shut where they are most likely to come in. We get lots through our patio doors but hardly any through our street facing bay window for example. Zap those that do get in swiftly with a fly zapper or usher them out if they are near the window. Wrap meat that you're binning into sheets of newspaper so that the flies can't hatch from the bin. But if you live near a farm for instance there is not much you can do unfortunately.
