Help! We have moths…

Hi all

Looking for advice.
My partner and I live in a 1 bed flat in central London. We moved in during the pandemic last November. On moving in, we noticed that the carpets had been severely damaged but we put it down to wear and tear. I did however make a complaint as soon as we moved in and told them we wanted it sorted. We were ignored and ignored. We sent pictures a d posted on their maintenance website.
After months of waiting and as things got warmer, we started noticing more and more moths. Eventually we found hundreds of moth eggs and larvae within the parts of the damaged carpets. As the warmer weather hit they’d begun to hatch.
Cut a long story short we have had pest control in 4 times to spray the carpets and have had them replaced. HOWEVER, they’re still everywhere.
We’re finding them in clothes, shoes, bed sheets, pillows, curtains etc. All of our things have been infested.
I have asked and asked for us to be let out of the tenancy and to be compensated for the damaged to our clothes.
The estate agents are digging their heals and are constantly taking their time in replying.
As you can imagine, this has interrupted our daily lives, work lives as we both wfh, ruined our things.. it’s just a total mess.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what can be done? We’re at a loss and we want out.

You could try the pheromone moth traps. As well as bagging up your clothes so that moths cannot get to them and lay more eggs in them.

I don't know what can be done legally but be careful when moving that you don't carry the moths with you into your next place.
