When cleaning the inside of my oven, is it safe to use a Brillo pad on the tough bits, or just a plastic scoured?

Or scourer even. Stupid correct feature.

What kind of surface us it? Is it smooth, or does it feel rough?
I have the former and would use a plastic scourer but not a metal one as that would scratch. Ive had the latter in a self cleaning (rough, rock type feel) and had to be a Lot more careful.
Generally I other to use chemicals, if you are up for that try oven pride or similar, these are the ones with the bags. They use caustic soda and you're supposed to just put it in the bag but I'll set some aside and dab it inside the oven and leave over night. I'm the morning the grease just wipes away!
You need to be careful for obvious reasons and it might not be practical of you have pets and children who are hard to keep out the kitchen.

Good luck!

The interior is smooth, apart from the baked on bits ….. I’m fine cleaning the racks in the sink after a soak, it’s when I run my hand across the inside surface it feels bumpy in places, which I assume is mess from cooking.

I’ve bought a degreasing spray and an oven cleaning tool- hoping this does the job. Watch this space…

I would love to know if that works please.

The best thing I've ever used is The Pink Stuff - can absolutely recommend it

If it's smooth, I've had success with a cream cleaner and the the plastic bit on a sponge before :)

Another tip - i boil a tray with lemons and water in, then let it cool down before cleaning, the steam loosens some of the dirt
