Ask my cleaner to clean my oven

Is this unreasonable? She is lovely - haven't asked her to do this before in 2 years - asked her to clean my fridge last week which she was happy to do.
Thx

Not as part of her regular cleaning, I wouldn't. But I might ask "do you clean ovens as well?" to see if she wanted to do it for extra £.

Thank you x

I know people who pay £75 just for that.

Lotty32 · 02/07/2021 14:24

Yes but those companies have all the specialist equipment etc - I'm not talking about a professional clean.

I think that’s unreasonable, yes.

What equipment do they have ? When I have it done they take the racks to soak in the van and then cleans the rest of the oven. That's £60.

I asked my cleaner once. Never again … she didn’t like it … don’t think they consider it part of a regular house Cleaner’s job and actually I agree having thought about it

lollypoppi · 02/07/2021 16:16

Well as long as she's getting paid I don't see the issue. Like if she does 2 hrs a week for you but has a spare 30mins and u give her different tasks every week to fill the 30mins.

Temp023 · 02/07/2021 16:42

Er no!

BeBloodyBold · 02/07/2021 16:48

My cleaner did mine. She might have asked me if I wanted it doing though? She also does my ironing - she's ace Grin

Clymene · 02/07/2021 16:52

I wouldn't. I think that's beyond the remit of house cleaning

LucysSkyDiamonds · 02/07/2021 17:01

My cleaner does it when we're on holidays, as part of a deep clean while we're out of the way during one of her usual slots. Comes in, puts on the oven pride, leaves to soak while doing the cupboards or fridge and then rinses off the oven. Works out well.

CommanderBurnham · 02/07/2021 17:39

You're not being unreasonable to ask.

Just say is there any way to can stay longer next time and clean the oven?

Sometimes I ask my cleaner to leave something to concentrate on something else or do something extra if she has time. Obviously I pay accordingly.
