Should I give feedback to cleaner ?

I had a cleaning company come to do a deep clean it was a highly recommended local company, the owner herself who seems to get the most praise did not clean my home it was three other woman. It was £14 an hour which for where I live is expensive with most being £11ish, I didn't mind as I've had a few cleaners and just not asked them to come back as I've been disappointed, now they came out to do a 6 hour clean I left to go out with my daughter there was 3 of them so 2 hours in total , my daughter felt unwell so we came home earlier and they had already gone so had finished early which I don't mind but when I got to my home it wasn't up to tk standards a lot of dust left hadnt touched some windows hadnt even hoovered under the footstool etc missed light sockets radiators , the full deep clean cost £110, now the owner has messaged for feedback and I don't know wether to just ignore her and not re book or give her some feedback im a wuss with this sort of stuff and wondered what other people would do.

Definitely give feedback. State what time you got back and that everything you’d asked for had not been done.

You paid for a service and it wasn’t provided. You’re due a refund!

I expect the owner maybe doesn’t even know?

thunderandsunshine01 · 30/06/2021 19:01

She’s actually asked for feedback, so as long as it’s done privately and not across a reviewing platform I think that would be fine. It’s not like you have reached out to her to complain…

lanbro · 30/06/2021 19:02

I would give honest feedback that you're disappointed. When I get a deep clean it is always sparkling, in fact last time they even sorted the kids books on the shelves, remade beds in a hotel like way and folded all the loo rolls!

The owner needs to know that her employees are cutting corners. People who start small businesses often end up going bankrupt by employing people who can't be arsed to do their job properly.

If you put it politely and constructively, it will be fine.

Thanks everyone I'll give her a text to let her know , I'd usually just ignore the situation but for the money paid I expected the house to be pristine.

I've had this type of situation with cleaners more than once, the fact that the owner is asking for feedback is brilliant- do tell her, how else is she going to know?

Granohlaa · 30/06/2021 21:12

She’s proactively seeking feedback which is amazing so give it 🙂

FlowerArranger · 30/06/2021 21:16

Just to add..... I'd never leave cleaners I don't know on their own. Not to say that I'd supervise them closely, but I'd definitely want to keep an eye on them.

Di11y · 30/06/2021 21:44

3x even 10 minutes early is 30 mins they've ripped you off. Deffo mention it, including the bits missed.

johnson356 · 30/06/2021 22:16

I've explained to her what was missed and she did offer to do another deep clean for the price of a normal clean but I don't think I'll use them again , she also asked for pictures of what was missed so now I feel abit weird about it all not sure if it's to imply I'm lying or to put the evidence towards the people working for her ? I feel super awkward now Blush

Why feel awkward? You paid them. I'd give them a piece of my mind and send those pictures. They should reclean for free never mind a cheaper option!

GlamGiraffe · 01/07/2021 02:18

She should defiitely be offering to reclean for free to at least make up for the time they cheated you of and to show they are dsoable if foungcwhat they are paid to do.
Reply and say you have are extremely disappointed she has suggested you pay for another visit, even for a reduced price service, to put right an error made by her staff especially considering they have cheated you if time you paid for.
If she wishes to demonstrate her cleaners are capable and trustworthy you would welcome a visit and would think thus was an apporopriate amends, however you should not be expected to pay for her staff's shortcomings. This should be provided at her cost.
I suspect she knows there may be issues with some if her staff for her to contacting you askng for feedback.
Dont shy away. Respond to her. The worst she can do is ignore you but fint let her feel like she can do whatever she wants she should realise as a business owner you take hits and are accountable for bad staff choices.

flower246267 · 01/07/2021 12:13

Sorry changed my name but she's offered to send them back next week to do the bits they've missed ? I don't really see the point I've went over most of the areas that were missed now as it was mostly dusting cleaning different spots like silicone missed in bathroom extra should I just tell her it's ok but at least she knows for the future ?

I think this is normal, & it would be good to get them to redo

I paid £300 (!!!) for a pre move in clean. 3 people: 2 were amazing, one cut loads of corners. I sent photos & they sent one of the better people to redo bits. I would not have gone over & asked for the missed bits to be done. It’s the same as anything: I’m if you pay, you expect to get full value paid for

I agree that pictures are the way to go here

Takes any emotion or discussion out of it.

The surfaces are either pristine or not and a picture would show that.
