how to clean stains of bath

Hi,

I've recently bought a new house and the bath tub seems really easy to stain - even just with conditioner or shower gel drips.

I don't think its acrylic - the surface is matt and feels slightly rough - I suspect it must be slightly porous which is why it absorbs colours so quickly. It looks awful compared with the rest of the bathroom suite which is ceramic.

Before I replace the bath does anyone have any suggestions for what it is made of and how to clean it??

It’s hard to say what would be best without knowing what the bath is made of. Car wax is often used to extend the lifespan of plastic baths that have become porous. I suppose it’d work on ruined enamel but I don’t know if it could ever be removed well enough to re-enamel

Is it a metal bath? Could it be enamel? If so you can get re-enamelling kits. It should be pretty cheap to replace, especially if it's acrylic and if you have spare tiles. Sometimes when people are fitting bathrooms they leave some spare tiles under the bath, behind the bath panel.
