Handheld clothes steamer

Does anyone recommend? My daughter is starting school in September and will wear white cotton shirts and pinafore. I'm not much of an ironer and wonder if a handheld steamer is better than conventional iron and board. Interested to hear your thoughts!

When I worked in retail, I loved steaming the new clothes as they were unpacked from delivery - so therapeutic and satisfying. It worked well.
However, that’s with a big machine. I’ve used two handheld ones for domestic use and they’ve been crap.
I didn’t do a lot of research or spend a lot of money on them, so it might only be an issue with cheaper / poor quality options.

I like my steam generator iron though - I reckon you would power through tiny school shirts and pinafores in no time.

If I were you (and if you don’t already have a steam generator iron), I’d look into upgrading that instead … unless other posters on here can swear by an excellent handheld steamer.
