kelly's mission

Not sure why I'm opening the thread as I've barely done anything all week

Madhouse - hope you got some sleep.

Morning

FGS thanks for the thread
TMH Hope your ds feels better this morning and that you managed to get some rest.
Nice to see you Jas

I'm still not well so am going to do my best to take it easy again today (I'm terrible at being ill) The state of the house is getting me down but I must try to avoid doing too much and wearing myself out.

See you all later x

TheMadHouse · 22/11/2007 09:07

FGS Thanks for the thread and it was lovley to see you Jas we do miss you

Bianca I hope that you feel better after some rest.

Well DS1 was up all night - he still has a temp and is not going to nursery. So I am waiting for the flooring guy to arrive and then we must shop, as the cuboards are bare.

I am hoping that his breething improves, as we are maxing his inhauler - 10 puffs every 2 hours, if not off to the hospital. He does not tolerate nebulisers, as his heart rate goes really mega mad.

Not much flying for me today, usually Thursday is my busy day - never mind, just lots of cuddles with my boys and some Cbeebies I think

gibberish · 22/11/2007 09:27

Morning

Thanks for the thread FGS One of these days I will be up early enough to start one... probably on the day you will see pigs flying

Jas was nice to see your name on the thread. Miss seeing you around. Hope things are back to normal really soon.

TMH Will you be able to catch up on some sleep through the day?

bianca Ignore the house. You are more important than the housework. Get yourself well then you will be fighting fit to tackle everything.

All righty. Got detailed clean of my room to do. Shouldnt take more than an hour though as is ok from the last time. Older dds got their room to detail clean. That will probably take them until midnight Rest of the house is fine and washing and ironing all under control.

I bought a cute little basket with a handle yesterday. I am fed up carrying handfuls of cleaning stuff around the house and upstairs and sometimes having to make two trips. So have got all my daily cleaning stuff in the basket and can just carry it around.

Quick question - where can I buy labels for my freezer boxes? I make loads of meals and freeze them but can't remember what they are when I go to get one... need a label that I can rewrite over to identify the contents. Had a look in the Betterware catalogue but couldn't find any.

gibberish · 22/11/2007 09:28

And where is never? Haven't seen her around for a few days.

ImdreamingofaGROUCHYxmas · 22/11/2007 11:12

Hello to ALL and welcome Jen

done all my morning jobs, went to the market in the next town and bought some mutton (expanding my tastebuds) Home before the WM finished and just sitting down

THM I'm a sessional Creche worker for the council whoever asked. It's always a last minute thing and it's good fun. I'll be able to do more in January when Ed starts reception.

Got to do reading friends this afternoon, prep tea and tackle the mountains of laundry that are building up everywhere

gibberish · 22/11/2007 11:22

Detailed clean and missions done. Girls tackling their room at the moment (in between shouting matches ) Am leaving them to sort it out between themselves.

Not much else to do today. Last lot of washing on. Going to start dinner I think.

GO Mutton? Never had mutton before. What are you going to do with it?

fluffymummy · 22/11/2007 11:38

((Fluffymummy just visiting for a few minutes whilst on an incredibly boring work conf call ))

Gibberish - Lakeland do a range of special freezer labels that don't fall off boxes and bags when frozen (IYSWIM!). I finally gave in and bought some when DH defrosted rhubarb instead of pasta sauce for dinner...

gibberish · 22/11/2007 11:40

Oh excellent! Thanks fluffymummy lol at having rhubarb with pasta. May be an acquired taste!

Oodlesandludasoftinsel · 22/11/2007 12:33

Hello all

Have just got home from a rather horrific tantrum experience! All ready to walk back home after toddler group...DD2 finally strapped down in pushchair, got to the door and realised it was lashing down...put raincover on pushchair...DD2 screams at the top of her lungs and kicks the raincover repeatedly until it slides off! I sit DS on the top of the pushchair so he is sitting on the raincover and she can't kick it off....and redo the stupid velcro bits at the bottom....DD2 kicks me in the mouth in the process and continues to kick so I can't do the straps up. I shout and hold her legs with one arm and eventually manage to do them up...get outside and she is still kicking and screaming and manages to put her foot right through the bloody thing!

I ignore her all the way home, as it is absolutely thrapping it and I just want to get home as quick as possible and leave her to get wet....she then screams twice as loud (as if she wasn't screaming loud enough as it was!!!) because it is now raining on her.

To make matters even worse...she was wearing sandals! (that was a whole other tantrum first thing this morning

Do you think she might have learned her lesson!????
Doubtful... Oh don't you just LOVE 2 year olds!???

Ok sorry rant over... phew...

Hello to all anyway...

I also have a new washing theory...as spurred by Jen (so thankyou for that!)
Ok....
Usual routine is to get washing out of dryer..
Fold it all up, taking out bits that absolutely need ironing....
Put the pile of folded clothes on the stairs until I can be bothered to take it up...
Put said pile on my blanket box/bed...
Leave it there until there is so much it irritates me/we need more clothes!!!
Grit teeth and then do it all in one go!

I am now going to...
Fold into piles straight away..DS, DD1, DD2, DH and ME!
Take upstairs straight away to put away into the right drawers/wardrobes.

I'm going to start today! and see if I can keep on doing it, as I'm sure it will make things easier.

oops huge long post!

Oodlesandludasoftinsel · 22/11/2007 13:27

Well its amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it!(...and when DD2 is asleep, and DS is watching Pocoyo!!!)

Have:
~Unloaded/reloaded D/W
~Tidied worktops in kitchen and put things away
~Cleaned piggies out
~Cleaned the fire and re-lit it
~Hoovered all downstairs, including sofa and under cushions, and skirting boards.

I now have to sort out space for xmas pressies and wrap a few bits up so I can put them away.

Ohhh, tumble dryer has stopped! time to try out my new theory...

yaddayule · 22/11/2007 14:30

Hi all
Been out and about (shopping trip/lunch and library) so house is as I left it this morning (surveys breakfast dishes)

Got to be out in 30 mins to pick up ds from school so my morning routine starts ..

On your marks
Get set

Go go go (in racing car styleee)

(madhouse hope your ds is better!)

Oodlesandludasoftinsel · 22/11/2007 14:52

Well, I'm off soon to get DD1.
Have cleared the landing cupboard out, hauled all the xmas decorations and the tree out of it (going up next weekend )
Actually I was very excited about xmas, but my excitement has rubbed off...as I hate being skint, and shopping on a budget takes the enthusiasm off a bit....don't get me wrong though, it could be a lot worse, so I shouldn't moan really. I'm trying to hold back an extra bit of cash to add to the xmas week food shop so we can get some goodies on top of the normal stuff. No one actually likes turkey, and chicken gives me terrible indegestion (lordy knows why!) so we might have some beef I think.

God...I'm really rambling on today aren't I!

Well better get on

(still haven't got round to emptying the tumble dryer

JenT · 22/11/2007 15:29

O Wow what a productive morning!

Have managed to do my usual Thursday stuff but bit slapdash as for some reason we all slept in until 8.20am and have to leave the house at 8.40 on a Thursday so have some making up to do!.

Going now to make Macaroni Cheese for dinner (with bacon, sweetcorn and tomato's) and then hope to get a bit more house stuff done.

Hope everyone is feeling better soon!
Thanks again for the lovely welcome you all seem soo friendly!

BiancaCastafiore · 22/11/2007 16:10

Good afternoon

Luda what a day you're having! This morning sounds like a nightmare with dd2 but at least it wore her out so you could get lots done this afternoon

Ds came home from school at lunchtime and has done painting, reading and is now bouncing on my bed (although bouncing makes one of his bones hurt apparently)

Dd will be home any minute now and I hope to get the two of them bathed early tonight and then I need to do homework with dd (spelling and maths tests tomorrow)

I did manage to get some washing in the wm earlier and have a pile of towels waiting to be put away in the airing cupboard (which really needs sorting before I'm able to fit the towels away!)
I also need to put fresh bedding on dds bed.
No idea what to give the kids for supper, dd is having hot lunches at school all week so ds had cheesy pasta bake for lunch...I'm all out of inspiration food-wise these days!

See you all later x

Hmm, just noticed that the first M&S one says its actually indigo, not black ...

Curls and a chipped tooth sounds like a cute combination
