fruit flies arrrrgh

how do i get rid of them?

have had to put the fruit bowl away.

makes me feel all minging and dirty.

Try and seek out what is attracting them and bin it, then get a bottle with an inch or so of red wine in it, make a paper cone and put it in the neck. Flies smell wine, fly in via cone, can't get out, die happy.

DO NOT drink the fly wine.

it was over ripe bananas that started it. they have been composted now.

If you don't have a bottle with some wine in (I never do I just drink it all!) get a jam jar or something similar. Cover in clingfilm with a few little hotels poked in. Flies can get in but not out. Empty regularly.

I found that putting a clean t-towel over the fruit bowl helps.

yep, what buda says works well and also banana skin works to attract them too, or honey.
