Silicon utensils taste soapy

We have recently had a new hob and changed from gas to induction and so changed or pans and bought silicon utensils. However when we wash them in the dishwasher they make the food taste really soapy.

Has anyone solved this problem?

Thanks

I can taste most dishwasher tabs on all plastic/rubber/silicone utensils. I find that only the 'basic' tabs don't leave a flavour behind and the absolute worse are any brand with 'lemon' smell. I can't bear eating off lemony tasting plastic.

My scrambled eggs at lunch time tasted horrible and I know the obvious answer is to hand wash everything, but that defeats the point of having a dishwasher

Anything lemon scented in the dishwasher will cause this. Tablets, Rinse Aid or a Deodoriser. Use Regular scent and it should go away, although items already affected may not get better.

I think rubbing with raw lemon (acidic) helps to remove the odour

I experiences the same problem . Lemon solves it.
