Every so often I think about getting one (never have so far), so does anyone have one and are they any good?

I dont have a bread maker, but i have an excellent book that I can recommend for bread making. It has a special technique and it makes it SO easy to make. There is a DVD with the gorgeous talented French man explaining how to make it. Anyway, I was glad that I bought that instead of the bread maker, as it takes up much less space in the kitchen when I can't be bothered to make bread.

i don't add all the stuff in the recipe (eg milk powder, sugar, vitamin c) & it doesn't seem to matter. doves farm do sachets of yeast too (resealable).

If you are ever in North Norfolk, go to Letheringsett Mill and stock up on spelt and other flours. It's the best - and one of the few water-drive mills still operating. You can have a tour of the mill, if interested, And there is a good child-friendly pub with a big climbing frame in the village.

yes - dh. Got stoneware loafpan and ever since then dh makes almost all of our bread.

Pizza dough in 40 mins!!! Takes 5 with Kenwood (inherited from my grandmother who died when I was 10 - Kenwood stored in parents' garage until I had my own house...) Only takes 10 mins without Kenwood. Ds wouldn't be able to wait that long to start on the pressing out on the pizza stone.

We bought ours in Lidl, silly inexpensive price and use this recipe (which I also use for pizza)its from HFW's River Cottage family cookbook

500gms strong white flour
2 teaspoons salt
1 sachet of easy blend yeast
2 tablespoons of olive oil
2 teaspoons Honey (you can use sugar)
300ml of warm water

I just put that all in and stick it on a standard loaf setting-always comes out lovely!
