Hole underneath washing machine detergent drawer

I pulled out the detergent drawer to clean it only to discover a hole in the housing underneath.

Is is safe to use as wondering if water going somewhere it shouldn't.

No idea, but I'd be concerned too. I suggest you contact manufacturer for advice. Bumping for you.
