Where do you keep your microwave?

We are moving to a new build soon, and won't have much worktop space. Does anybody keep there microwave in a cupboard? or would it be unsafe to do this. I also think they take up a lot of space, and am hoping for ideas of where it would be best placed. I think it will look unsightly too, with our new kitchen.

Ours is in a cupboard, we keep the door open when we use it and for a short while afterwards, but the cupboard is well ventilated with a grill built into the back.

Fitted into a wall cabinet. It frees up the worktop.

I wouldn't be without mine. Cooking frozen veg, reheating casseroles, soups and curries, softening butter, hot milk for hot chocolate, reheating cold coffee. I use it constantly. It has a little shelf over the worktop and under the backing cupboard.

Ours has been in a cupboard for years, they are ugly things and it doesn't get used much so it's a waste having on a surface. The only thing that is not ideal is cleaning it because it's in a base unit. On the plus side, I can't really see how mucky it is.

On the counter where we can get to it easily.
