See you later.

Simply · 14/11/2007 08:17

Hi EHM. Good to see you. Have you started thinking about your Christmas name yet? You'll see that some posters on this thread have already changed their posting names to Christmas ones. I haven't done mine yet.

Right. No more dilly dallying. Off to get showered and dressed.

FrostyGlassSlipper · 14/11/2007 08:36

My main teask for today is to get a dehumidifier for the conservator, as we have the floor relaid next week and the builders had to relaid the concreate subfloor do I need to dry it out. I have left the heater on it there all night, but it needs more help

yaddayah · 14/11/2007 09:58

Right I am setting my oven timer for 15 mins and will attempt to clear the breakfast stuff and not get sidetracked by heat magazine sitting innocently on the kitchen table

Back briefly. Ds can go back to school tomorrow - hurrah! I need to let work know I can work tomorrow and Friday. Please cross fingers that nothing else goes wrong!

Must finish lunch, ring work, meet a friend and sort out what is for tea. See you later!

bizguru · 14/11/2007 15:04

Hello All

Just a quickie, hope everyone is well,

I have been a busy bee today, I sat in with DS at nursery (not sure if that is helping TBH...he was very silly )

Came home and:
~Lit a fire
~Made lunch
~Cleaned GP's out
~Cleaned fish tank
~Hoovered all downstairs
~picked up copious amounts of dirty washing
~Put a load on
~Tidied round

And...have just done about an hour and a half's worth of filing....gah...my brain is fried!
Dh is bringing DD1 back from school, so as I don't have to go out now, I'm going to crack on with the rest of the tidying.

Might even start writing my xmas cards....haven't done them yet.....although I am waiting for some special ones DD1's school took...she was a very cute looking lamb for some nativity xmas snaps. (The school are making them into cards for people to order...to raise money for the school)

Oh...I should also think about supper too I suppose, haven't a clue what to have!
(Jacket Spuds me thinks)

Oodlesandludasoftinsel · 14/11/2007 15:07

!! please excuse the name change there! Dh demanded he answered a thread last night...and I made him change my name...
And I forgot to change it back!...

TUT!

ImdreamingofaGROUCHYxmas · 14/11/2007 15:56

Hello Everybody.

Thanks for the name ideas, do you like this one

Great to see you EHM Ruby I've been done out of £10 today so I sympathise (eBay, must have a curl in the middle of it's forehead)
To Bianca Simply THM FGS Luda and hello to Bizguru
Yaddah I've also shopped via Amazon for Xmas. Play.com is good too. Saves time and sanity this online shopping.

Done my usual morning routines then I went to see the GP about the ADs as I thought they had stopped working. Useful pep talk and come back in 2 weeks. Posted a job app, got a new pair of trousers and a game for Ed, Bought my BF's Xmas pressy (a really nice handbag) collected my meds and

Thought I could easily walk to the school to get Ed

NO

250 yards from the nursery my legs give up. I'm stumbling and staggerring like a lush . No answer from IL support (pah!) so I collect him and manage to get him home and make lunch.

He's spent today watching his educational DVDs which was good. oh *TMH we have the leapfrog ones: talking words, letter factory etc and we have Jolly Phonics. We have some Baby Einsteins too but I think he's past that, he just laughs at the puppets now. The leapfrog is great and has helped with his phonic sounds.

Where was I....Oh yeah

So I've spent this aft taking it really really easily. Well I loaded, ran and emptied the DW and did a load of washing and organised to dry.

Oh yeah, why is it only Ed who ever comes home caked in mud/paint/flour/wet through/in spare clothes? Anyone else have a well messy DC?

I ramble, sorry.

To do

Just potter, the house can look after itself for 24 hrs really.

1st MN time for a few days TBH. See you soon

Yaddyule · 14/11/2007 15:59

Waves

Oodlesandludasoftinsel · 14/11/2007 16:33

Ha Ha! I love the christmas names!

I have tried to shop on Amazon, but everything I wanted was unavailable

GO Love the name
I have also ordered from play.com...another good one is cdwow.com it is very reasonable for all dvds, cds, games etc...and postage is free.
(Oh and bizguru is me, LOL! under a name dh used...I forgot to change it before I posted!)
Oh...and take it easy this evening...poor you, give those legs a rest And fingers crossed for your Job Application too xx

Yaddyule That really rolls off the tongue!!

Ruby I would LOVE my landlord to offer to decorate/upgrade ANYTHING! It would be lovely (mind you I would just like our landlord to actually do ANYTHING AT ALL!...we have had to get lots of things fixed off our own backs, as he is soooo hard to get hold of, and then takes an absolute age to get anything done )
I want you to be our landlady ruby

simply Ah ha!...I'll keep them crossed Have a good few days at work, hope all is ok with ds now

Oodlesandludasoftinsel · 14/11/2007 16:40

simply I thought I'd just add, after re reading your posts, that you have made me smile, with your comment about wishing you had smelt the roses a bit more along the way. It made me think that I am wishing the years away...I often think how nice it will be when the kids are older, but maybe I shouldn't be so hasty....like you say the years fly so quickly, and TBH, when I think about it, my kids really are growing up so quick!!
p.s hope you get some luck on the aupair front...it must be the weather here in drizzly wales!

yaddayule · 14/11/2007 17:03

hmmm trys this for size

yaddayule · 14/11/2007 17:05

I felt naked without the a !

Weeeeeeel I've sort of procrastinated

then pottered

then ambled

then sort of moved things a tad

Ironing pile is looking at me

yaddayule · 14/11/2007 17:06

grouchy hope you're taking it easy !

TheMadHouse · 14/11/2007 17:06

GO Just a quicly as I am cooking dinner and should be stiring - at what age did ed outgrow the baby einsteins. My Eldest will be three in March??

BiancaCastafiore · 14/11/2007 17:23

Hello

simply I read your earlier post about smelling the roses too - I have days when I want to just stop the clock a minute and record it all...childhood flies by so quickly. Glad your ds is better.
Luda lol at you and your alter-ego
yadda I perfer you with the a too
Grouchy great name. Look after yourself x
Ruby when I was renting I was very grateful to my landlady when she redecorated. Hope the tennants renew the tennancy for you. Do you find the property easy to rent?

I've pottered mostly this afternoon so need to get some tidying up done this evening once the kids are in bed. Dd has gone to Rainbows so I'm going to quickly run the hoover round. Haven't got much time tomorrow so I hope it'll all stay tidy till Friday

See you later if I get the chance x

gibberish · 14/11/2007 18:58

Evening all!

Sorry I haven't been on today but did my home blessing then decided to start the detailed clean in the bathroom. Before I knew it the day had gone and had to rush the girls to their dancing class! Still, house is lovely and bathroom is sparkling from top to bottom Also did the missions

Thought I might tackle the little ones' room tomorrow but have a visitor in the afternoon so might not have time. It's not too bad but their desk and under the bed needs a good clear out.

Relaxing now thank goodness. Sorry I missed you all today.

Ruby - definitely spruce it up. Your tenants will show you more respect and be grateful.

I think this is DHs round about way of trying to cheer me up.
