I’m looking around my kitchen and I can see:
Bread bin
Coffee machine
Toaster
Spoon rest
Tea, coffee, sugar canisters
Kettle
Family George Foreman grill
Hand wash
Kitchen roll holder
Microwave
Fruit bowl

Window sill:
Couple of plants
Utensil pot

The sink has the following:
draining board
Washing up liquid
Dish cloth
Scouring pad

What do you have in yours? I’m thinking of storing some items out of sight.

nancy75 · 13/04/2021 23:24

Toaster, kettle & bottle of hand soap
Nothing else because I hate stuff on the side in the kitchen
I go through phases of putting the toaster & the kettle in the cupboard by the rest of the household get the hump 😂

Woodlandbelle · 13/04/2021 23:25

Toaster kettle and a plant

Everything else out of sight. Love it. Even my kettle and toaster blend in with the tiles so it's looks minimal

Ellieboolou33 · 13/04/2021 23:30

Toaster,
kettle
tea/coffee/ sugar
microwave,
spice rack
kitchen roll
Coffee machine which we never use

Various bits that kids put on our breakfast bar and never seem to get put away!

CaffeineAndCrochet · 13/04/2021 23:34

Bread bin
Scales
Chopping boards
Toaster
Coffee machine
Coffee bean grinder
Jar of coffee (there's a theme here)
Kettle
Kitchen roll
Sponge/washing up liquid

It's more than I'd like on display but everything that's out is used daily.

PickAChew · 13/04/2021 23:37

Most of it. Whoever built the kitchen saw, fit to make all the wall mounted units glass door Ed ones.

LucysSkyDiamonds · 13/04/2021 23:37

Every fucking thing. I have approx 1m of usable counter in this hideously designed place. Can't wait for my acres of quartz to come with my new kitchen in a couple of months. Then I'll have kettle, bread bin, fruit bowl and flowers.

Thanks all. For those of you (@MajorNeville, @woodlandbelle @nancy75) with minimal items out on counters, how/where do you store everything? Do you have huge kitchens with lots of units?

rosesarered321 · 14/04/2021 10:09

Box of tissues
Tile for hot saucepans
Utensil holder jar
Hand cream
Washing up liquid
Germ clear spray
Hand wash
Toaster
Kettle
Coffee machine
Instant decaffeinated coffee
Instant normal coffee
Opened bottle wine
Salt
Pepper grinder
Bread

I'd love to have less but these are all used multiple times a day, how do you have so little?

TroysMammy · 14/04/2021 10:29

Plastic drawer unit for things like tin opener, whisk, scissors, egg
Fruit bowl
Plastic box for bread
Soda stream
Garlic jar
Knife block
Washing up liquid holder (plastic mushroom container)
Bin for composting fruit and veg
Bin for food waste
Cactus
Kettle
Toaster
Tea caddy
Utensil jar
Microwave
I keep things like breadmaker, food processor, slow cooker on an open bookcase. I need a pantry.

TroysMammy · 14/04/2021 10:30

Windowsill houseplant and cacti.

bootlebum · 14/04/2021 10:31

I really try to be streamlined so - toaster, radio, pot with big utensils, some scandi ceramic jars, by sink - hand wash and washing up liquid, coffee machine.

murbblurb · 14/04/2021 10:39

if you mean 'on the worktops' rather than 'visible because endless opening of cupboards and drawers is wifework' then it is bread bin, knife block, microwave, kettle and coffee grinder.

Oils, salt, spices etc are on shelves, food waste bin and washing up liquid etc on the windowsill. Important to have space to cook/chop/prepare without having to move stuff first.

momobots · 14/04/2021 10:44

Counter tops: Kettle, spice rack/ oils, stack of colouring with a pot of pencils to occupy kids while I cook.

Sink: Wu liquid, scouter/sponge thingy, cloth for counters, draining rack.

That's it, I don't own a microwave and I keep everything else in the cupboards and just get out when I need it.

Table: table cloth, fruit bowl

spilledthebeans · 14/04/2021 14:09

Where does everything get stored? fairy liquid under sink in island along with washing up gloves etc. Toaster goes in cupboard, only problem with this is it leaves toast crumbs behind as it is tilted to get out. Juicer, rice maker, bread maker, ninja, in same cupboard. Microwave and kettle in utility.

I normally don't have flowers but took my mum to hospital and she bought me some lovely tulips so they are still blooming. I would prefer not to have a fruit bowl out but no-one would take a piece of fruit if it is out of sight, not that they do in sight either really.

Redglitter · 14/04/2021 14:14

Microwave
Kettle
Coffee machine
Storage jars
Toaster
Fruitbowl
