Stripped floorboards vs. new solid wood flooring

I am not from the UK, so I was hoping for a "British" opinion. We currently have some very knackered stripped pine floorboards. We can either have them resanded with the gaps filled or replace them with solid wood flooring that slots together (and hence no gaps). Both options cost the same. My dh thinks stripped floorboards are better bc for when we want to sell the house one day. But replacing the floor with new solid wood flooring is not as much hassle and dust as having the floorboards sanded. What would you do?

New solid wood. We have knackered old floorboards and I can't wait to get rid of them and have a nice new wooden floor!
