Air purifier Recommendation

Hello lovely people. I am looking for a air purifier for home use. We are having building works done, while living in the property. Even though the area where the work is being carried is segregated, the house is quiet dusty. The works are going to be done over a period of few months. Hence the need for a air purifier.
I tried to do a bit of a research and found the Dyson ones ( hot, cold and air purifier) to be good, going by what it says on the cover .
But they are quiet pricey!
Just wondering if any one has got any recommendations of other brands? Or any experience with Dyson?

We have two in the house, a small Homedics one we bought refurbished on eBay, and a big Phillips one. The little Homedics does the job, we noticed when a friend with allergies stayed (prior to getting the Phillips) he was much better in the room with the air purifier. The Phillips is a different beast altogether, it's much bigger and more powerful. I think it would cope with building work much better. Be prepared to change the filter a lot! We went for it over the Dyson as it got great reviews and was fractionally cheaper.

Sorry, not change the filter as in replacing it, but it needs frequent cleaning.
