Fusty smell

When I was a kid we had no heating. Everything stored in the wardrobe smelt fusty after a while.
I have some of those things, photos and cards, still and I’d like to keep them in my lounge but I can’t because of the smell.
What can I do to get rid if the smell on books, photos, papers etc ?
Thanks.

I would put them in a box for a while with some scented drawer liners or something. I know the smell you mean, it just kind of smells "old" and like it's been in a closed space for ages?

Try putting in a sealed container with bicarbonate of soda or charcoal if you have any (I found some on a amazon for wardrobes)
