bath mat in washing machine?

Just wondering, to save myself another 30mins of drudgery, if I can infact simply put my bath mat in the washing machine? Really cant be bothered spending Sunday afternoon scrubbing it! (when I say bath mat I mean rubber non slip thingy) If I can just throw it in the machine what setting, powder etc should I use?

Thanks in advance!

ooh, I'd like to know too. Ours always gets black mould on the bottom and is awful to get clean!

Well I did, when we had one. I did in on a 40 degree one. Never did it any harm.

Dunno, wouldn't it melt?

I spray mine with Flash with bleach stuff, then just rinse it with the shower spray. If the muck doesn't come off I throw it away and get a new one.

Usually put mine in the machine on a delicate wash, 40 degrees, 1 washing tablet.

I've never thought of using the washing machine. Will be trying it myself tomorrow

They're fine in the washing machine at 40.
Doesn't get rid of all the mould.
Best thing is to turn upside down in bath first thing in the morning, spray with flash bleach all over , leave for the whole day and rinse in the evening

Always stick mine in the machine with the shower curtains - 40 degrees.

If you spray it and then scrub with a softish washing up brush in diagonal lines between the suckers it does a lovely job - quite satisfying too (in a playing-with-water kind of way )

Thanks everyone, popped it in the washing machine earlier and its wasn't too grotty so came up okay. Think I'll try your tip tomorrow morning Darrell
