Hi, I need to replace this item for my mother, she's melted it with a hot saucepan. She has a typical kitchen sink with 2 basins, this is a plastic bowl with holes which sits in her second smaller sink, the place you leave the cloths, sponges, rinse items out etc, I can't seem to get the name right and searches come up with washing up bowls or racks for draining boards, what is it and where can I get one?

Sink caddy?

babblingbumblingbandofbaboons · 04/04/2021 09:28

Try searching for a sink colander, results should bring up plastic and metal versions :)

Thanks, but that comes back with the thing you put your washing up liquid bottle in and brushes, this is like a small washing up bowl with holes, don't know why picture won't post. I'll keep trying

It might be a strainer bowl.

IWantAllTheDogsInTheWorld · 04/04/2021 09:30

Sink basket?

Hohofortherobbers · 04/04/2021 09:41

Thanks, I'm getting closer, I now know its for the 'half bowl'. Can get a perfect stainless steel one but £36!! I suppose at least she can't melt it!

Sink Tidy?

Oldraver · 04/04/2021 10:44

I think it's called a half bowl strainer. I have been looking to replace mine for years but it's way too old

fightingirish · 04/04/2021 10:48

We call it the draining board in Ireland!

dementedpixie · 04/04/2021 10:51

So its the narrow plastic strainer bit that sits in the half bowl sink?

Yes, that's it

They can be different sizes and shapes so might be hard to find a generic one to fit. We don't have one in our half sink bit

Hardly. It's a detachable caddy thing.
LadyEloise · 06/04/2021 10:50

Franke do them.
Sorry I can't do links.

LadyEloise · 06/04/2021 10:54

It's called an Insertion drainer.

HadEnoughOfBears · 06/04/2021 11:01

On amazon they're called a half sink drainer basket.

FrogFairy · 06/04/2021 12:26

This is a long shot, but if you open the cabinet door and look at the underneath of the sink it might have the brand name or maybe even the model number on it which will help you search for the right accessory.
