They’re not great ... unless they’ve improved immensely in recent years!

Yea I've heard this...can take ages to dry....

We are due a baby and thinking maybe easier but don't have room for a machine for each washing and drying.
Hmmmm

Condenser tumble dryer may be an option? We've had one under the stairs before and left the door open when it's on.

Washer dryers are crap and the cycles take 4 hours

You might find this thread useful - people have given recommendations of specific machines: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/3715813-Washer-dryer-recommendations-please

We are in a similar boat in that we are about to have our first baby and have no space for a separate machine short of putting it in the lounge. No space under stairs, no garage, no electrics in shed, tiny kitchen. We've had heated airers over this winter but they take up a lot of floor space so not ideal for long term. Thinking about one of the Hoover ones. For me, as long as they get the majority of the water off, it'll be better than what we got now!

I've had a Bosch series 6 for a few years. It does dry well as long as it's not overloaded. There are 2 drying functions and loads of washing functions. Would recommend.
