I have a lovely pine blanket box that was purchased brand-new 17 years ago. Straight away I noticed that it imparted a strange aroma to whatever was stored in it. I thought that would stop in time but it never has!
Is there any way to fix this?
It's not a musty smell, just a strange 'woody' aroma that isn't particularly pleasant on clothes/blankets.
Would sealing the inside with varnish fix it?
