Dyson filter problems (DC39 animal)

So we've had our dyson DC39 animal hoover for 7 years and for the last couple of months the filter is getting full after using the hoover twice. Previously I could use the hoover for months and only have to wash the filter every couple of months but now I'm having to wash it after hoovering 2 rooms. I've brought a new filter and the same is happening. Anyone got any ideas?

I've got this hoover and had the same issue several times, luckily it was covered by the guarantee at the time. It was the cyclone inside that had burst and had to be replaced.
