Mission

Ds woke about an hour and a half ago.... came into my bed and said he'd had a bad dream I snuggled him up and asked what his dream was about..to which he replied "Monsters".
I hugged him and said not to worry because there are no such thing as monsters. After a minute or two he said "I don't want to go to school"
I guess there are such things as monsters
Anyway...I'm keeping him at home for a bit I have decided.

I have quickly scanned the rest of today's thread...but forgotton most of it...except to say...I was HOOKED on Isketch! I may do that now infact because I'm not getting much bloomin sleep anyway!

Its strange being up when everyone else is asleep...LOL the cat is freaking me out! She keeps sitting up and staring into the kitchen and flicking her ears about.

Anyway...hopefully by the time you all get up my link will be working properly, and I'll catch up later xxxxx

Afternoon all!

Another gorgeous day here And I have some exciting news - we have a new addition to the family in the form of 'Toots' - a teeny weeny long haired guinea pig So so cute. And Cookie immediately took her under her (rather overweight) wing. Which reminds me, can you put guinea pigs on diets? Had to get another one as Cookie was running about the girls' bedroom and saw herself in their mirror wardrobe. She went frantic trying to cuddle up to her reflection. Was heartbreaking. She is so much more chirpier since we brought the tiny one home

Have had dinner (fish with a lemon, mustard, garlic and herb topping and roasted tomatoes and courgettes with loads of veg and the rest of our lemon chicken casserole which was inthe freezer. Very yummy!) and am working my way through the detailed clean list in the kitchen plus the missions. Will get it finished and be back on in a bit. Need to hurry as dd1 wants to make an apple crumble with apples someone gave us from their orchard. Oh I do love food!

SlightlyMadStuffing · 08/11/2007 14:25

Oooops

I have come on MN to check the mission. Spent 90mins debating the chicken Pox vaccine....and have done no FLYing .....

Simply · 08/11/2007 14:49

Just a quickie.

gibberish Thanks for talking about food. You've reminded me to get some mince out of the freezer. Your dinner sounds really nice. I had left over stuff from the fridge.

SMS I'm sure you're busy making amends!

Right. I'm going to carry on with something. Not sure what yet. I think the dog would say that we should go for a walk now that it has stopped raining. I think I'll do that.

gibberish · 08/11/2007 15:58

simply your mince 'situation' has just reminded me to boil the figs for tomorrow's dinner - they need to be left overnight in the fridge in the water and I forgot last week when I was meant to make the chicken in figs meal.. ended up having to get a macdonald's for the girls

Have finished the kitchen yaaaayyyy!! Is looking lovely. dd1 is about to trash it though as is now making apple crumble

SMS I tend to get drawn into MN when I should be doing other things... ah well. We deserve a little 'me' time don't we?

SlightlyMadStuffing · 08/11/2007 16:17

That is my argument....Thurs afternoon does tend to be my me (MN) time....along with Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Thurs night, Fri night, Sat night, Sun night, Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Thurs night, Fri night, Sat night, Sun night, Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Thurs night, Fri night, Sat night, Sun night, Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Thurs night, Fri night, Sat night, Sun night, Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Thurs night, Fri night, Sat night, Sun night, Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Thurs night, Fri night, Sat night, Sun night, Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Thurs night, Fri night, Sat night, Sun night, Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Thurs night, Fri night, Sat night, Sun night, Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Thurs night, Fri night, Sat night, Sun night, Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Thurs night, Fri night, Sat night, Sun night, Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Thurs night, Fri night, Sat night, Sun night, Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Thurs night, Fri night, Sat night, Sun night, Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Thurs night, Fri night, Sat night, Sun night, Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Thurs night, Fri night, Sat night, Sun night, Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Thurs night, Fri night, Sat night, Sun night, Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Thurs night, Fri night, Sat night, Sun night, Monday night, ...........

gibberish · 08/11/2007 16:22

Seems fair to me SMS

SlightlyMadStuffing · 08/11/2007 16:28

Yeah and with that I had better go. DP is doing the swimming leson tonight, and they will be out of the pool in 3 mins and it is only getting changed time and a 3min walk......that gives me about 15 mins to make it look as if I have done something.

Having said that DP didn't start work until 12 today and DDs toys were still all over floor (I thought he might of hoovered), recycling still on side and even the lounge blinds were still closed, so I have probably done no less than him

gibberish · 08/11/2007 16:30

You expected your dh to hoover Does he even know what the hoover looks like? Mine doesn't

SlightlyMadStuffing · 08/11/2007 16:37

DP does most of the hovering actually .

Bear in mind we are both part time SAHM/D and patr time WOHM/Ds so he does his share some of the chores on his days off.

Actually he does all of the morning routine every day - breakfast, DW, school run.

He also does all of the laundry on a Monday.

Right will osmeone get East Mids elec to trigger a power cut over here or I shall never get away...they will be in any second..

gibberish · 08/11/2007 16:52

SMS Would you mind sharing your dh? Mine puts the bins out. That's pretty much it.

Have phoned the electricity company for you lol

Jas · 08/11/2007 17:27

Thankyou all for talking to me despite my total lack of FLYing recenty, and my very erratic posting.

I've just given ds second helpings of past, so I'm not really mumsnetting - I\m supervising tea

I've got tomorrows tea all ready to go. I just have to remember to turn on the slow cooker before bed, so if I get a bit doe this evening I won't be too bad.

gibberish · 08/11/2007 17:58

ruby. Wouldn't be hard to be more enlightened than our current monarch...

yaddayah · 08/11/2007 18:07

gibberish Go to amazon website if you click on my account it should show your recent stuff and when they're due for dispatch/when they were sent

gibberish · 08/11/2007 18:08

Thanks. Will do that right this minute

gibberish · 08/11/2007 18:14

Okay, according to my account it was shipped on the 8th October and I can't track it because it is now out of date. Going to phone them tomorrow.

yaddayah · 08/11/2007 18:24

tortoise · 08/11/2007 19:54

Hi all.
Hope everyone is ok. My dd2 has a high temp today/tonight. Started after coming out of pre-school. I feel a bit off too. Tired and headachy. Going to have a early night i think.

House isn't getting any better, i really need to try harder.

I took my new bike out for a test ride while dd2 was at pre-school. I didn't get far before my legs gave up. Was ok once back on level area/downhill area. I will get used to it hopefully. I haven't riden a bike for about 11 yrs so its to be expected.

Hope to catch up properly soon.

gibberish · 08/11/2007 21:52

Hi tort I went on my bicycle a whole ONCE last year - NIL times this year

yadda yeah they took the money out ages ago. Just weird that I got the first half of the package and not the remainder... very annoying as it was work books for the girls. They have the answer books but not the work books themselves - fat lot of good that is!

Simply · 08/11/2007 22:51

Hello again to all and thanks for making me smile esp Ruby who is completely umm whoops I can't think of an appropriate PC word my kinda gal!

I have done lots of ironing this evening whilst watching the tv and now I need to make the bed (clean sheets and stuff) in order to get into it. Nooooooooooooo! Ah, well.

I hope you feel better soon tortoise and your dd2.

Jas Hello!

See you tomorrow.

yaddayah · 09/11/2007 07:23
