Budget of around £200, I had a dolce gusto but didn't like it so looking for a 'real' one. I like cappuccino and latte so must make nice ones!

After lots of research and looking on here, I bought the De'Longhi Magnifica bean to cup. It’s slightly more than £200 but you could shop around for deals. It took some fiddling around in the first few days to get the right settings for us but I love it and as it has a milk frother it makes gorgeous lattes and cappuccinos.

Bought this in first lockdown and very happy. Can make long coffees or set to short and strong for espresso, you can make lattes and cappuccinos by adding milk frothed using the steam wand.

Both for the same one! It looks great too. Thank you!

We’ve had nespresso machines, duality machines
But nothing beats a traditional simple cafetière

Loads cheaper (sorry that didn’t actually answer your question)

Our machines never seemed to last longer than a year (hard coffee drinker)!

Onedropbeat · 20/03/2021 08:17

We do have a milk frother machine to be able to do the milky coffees but I drink it black personally

Thighdentitycrisis · 20/03/2021 09:30

Moka stovetop

anibendod · 20/03/2021 12:15

we've recently bought a delonghi dedica which makes a lovely cup of coffee

Cynderella · 20/03/2021 14:32

Like @PurpleBirch, we have a De'Longhi Magnifica bean to cup and love it. I don't use the frother because we both drink black coffee, but it's much easier to clean than our previous Gaggia (which lasted years).

Thanks everyone!

After years of trying to create the perfect coffee I splurged and bought a Gaggia Brera machine. Out of your budget but it is worth every penny. Although, I still highly rate a stove top moka pot.

There's a recent post here about the best coffee beans. Find a good coffee first.

I could never get cafetière coffee right - it always tasted chalky.

FangsForTheMemory · 21/03/2021 19:27

I've got a DeLonghi bean to cup. I bloody love it. Mine was more than your budget, but they do them at difference prices (eg they go up to a couple of thousand quid for people who've got money to burn) for different pockets.
