Where do you store your bread products?

Bread.. bagels, pittas etc etc.
The bread bin is full with a white loaf and a brown loaf.... where do you put the other things? They're currently sitting on top of the bread bin which is not a good look.

I had this exact problem! My solution probably isn’t practical for you, but when I put my new kitchen in I got more pan drawers than I needed for pans with a view to using one for breads. Got rid of my bread bin entirely and have clear work tops. For a different work round, my DM keeps her in the fridge if that would work for you?

housecoat1968 · 10/03/2021 20:20

I did think of emptying one of the drawers so might need a big sort out to make room for the pans in the cupboards 😩

I keep a fresh loaf in a kitchen cupboard (with the pans!) and perhaps a packet of crumpets.

Other stuff like pitta, wraps and bagels I keep in the freezer until I need them.

MMM2 · 11/03/2021 14:46

I just freeze them and take them out when I want them.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 11/03/2021 14:48

In the freezer.

Hairsonyourchest · 11/03/2021 14:51

Freezer here too

Chasingsquirrels · 11/03/2021 15:39

One shelf in a wall cupboard had bread - loaf, packed of wraps, burger buns, hot cross buns, crumpets (not all of these at the same time, just a selection of what might be there).
If I know I'll use them in the few days after purchase they go in the cupboard, otherwise they go in the freezer.

QueenOfPain · 11/03/2021 15:40

Freezer and then I just get a slice or loaf out as I need it.

QueenOfPain · 11/03/2021 15:40

I meant a slice or bagel/crumpet/wrap out as I need it.

bloodywhitecat · 11/03/2021 15:42

Bread in the breadbin, other bread goods in a Tupperware in the cupboard.

AlCalavicci · 11/03/2021 15:43

Loaf of bread , open pitta/ wraps/ crumpets in the fridge
Unopened in the cupboard.

Ninkanink · 11/03/2021 15:44

In the cupboard where pasta etc is. Once opened they go into one of our cake tins which are decorative so they look nice sitting on the counter.

Ninkanink · 11/03/2021 15:45

Oh yes, if we’re not going to use them all within a few days the rest gets frozen.

oneofthegiantsisme · 11/03/2021 15:52

Never in the fridge - was told on a breadmaking course that bread goes stale faster in the fridge than anywhere else.

Like many others, if it's not going to be used in the next few days, it goes in the freezer - I have a drawer and a half full of bread-related goods, which generally doesn't include actual loaves as I use the bread machine for that.

DespairingHomeowner · 11/03/2021 23:05

In a large tub then into the microwave: which is an airtight container

Tub/bowl is so I only have to pull out 1 thing

jillandhersprite · 12/03/2021 14:37

In a food cupboard - no fancy bread bin...
But we go through bread products fairly quickly.
If the packaging can't be folded over easily will use an old peg to stop the air getting to it.
I like my kitchen surfaces as clear as possible so I have more room for chopping, plates and for everyone else to dump their unwanted stuff on!!!
