Heat pump tumble dryer or heated airer?

Hello,

I have a heated airer with a cover that I'm very happy with, apart from how long it takes to dry the washing. I can dry a full load of washing in 12/15 hours. I used to have a vented tumble dryer but lots of clothes shrank. I've been doing research into heat pump airers.

I know they take longer than a condenser tumble dryer but if my washing was dry in 4 hours that would be a huge improvement to the heated airer. So, I have some questions

Which heat pump airer should I go for
(Maximum £500)

Will clothes be ready to put away after 4/5 hours

Do they shrink clothes

Will there be lots of condensation

Which is better, heat pump tumble dryer or heated airer?

I thinks both have their benefits.

We have a heat pump dryer. Aeg. I’m happy with it. A load of bedding takes maybe 1.5-2hrs to dry as an example

It’s supposed to be fine on wools as well, but I think it still slightly shrinks clothing over time so I don’t put everything in.

Tumble dry - bedding, towels, jeans, basic T-shirt’s and socks.

Dryer - everything else.

I only use dryer for towels in summer

I used a dehumidifier. It was amazing. Have you given that a go? Combined with the heated airer, your drying time should reduce quite a bit.

I love our Samsung heat pump dryer especially the sensor on it which adjusts the timing. if I put a load on it will usually say 3 hours to start with but then the sensor will adjust so its normally around 2 hours. sometimes we need to check it and start it again if still a bit damp, usually if there is large bedding or towels in with clothes as the clothes will dry first. We also check clothing labels so not everything goes in. I've never had a different type of dryer before though so I cant compare
