Help me clean my slate floor

Pleaaaaasse!

It's a slate floor in the kitchen and no matter how many times I mop and scrub and rinse, it's never clean!

I think it's perhaps 'unsealed' so natural 'dirt' from the slate but it's so disheartening that it's never clean. I can literally scrub it on my hands and knees and then if I wipe it with kitchen roll, the kitchen roll is dirty brown after.

Any ideas or suggestions? I can't replace it as it's a rental (have seriously thought of covering it up though but cost prevents that).

I just want a nice clean floor 😩

A standard robot mop helps me personally. This is just the case when you need not just to remove dust, but to clean it efficiently. You can take such a gadget from your friends (just ask them) and test it on your floor. I can give you a link to an article with all benefits and drawbacks Do you use any additional chemicals?

Thanks @DouglasJohnson - this looks good! I just use Flash liquid usually.

I have this same problem. A very expensive slate floor in the kitchen, installed by the previous owners. Just such a waste of money! It's freezing cold, rock solid so it's dangerous for my toddler, and never seems clean. We will be replacing it soon!
