how do I rejuvenate an old iron skillet? (think that's what it is called!)

I have rediscovered, while clearing out a cupboard, one of those cast iron pans with the ridges on. It is in a bit of a state but I don't really want to throw it out as I think it was pretty expensive (about 10 years ago IIRC!)

Any ideas how to restore it to its former glory?

TIA

rub it with wire wool to get rusty bits off.
then coat it in thin layer of veg oil and 'bake' it in the oven for a bit (30 mins, low oven?)

ooh - sounds quite straightforward - thanks MyEye
