Where to buy beds?

As a result of another thread about double/king size I suspect DH and I would sleep much better in a SuperKing rather than the double we have been sharing for about 20 years Grin. So....where to buy a bed? Some people seem to pretty much remortgage their house to get a new mattress - I am not willing to do that! At the same time I do want it to last and look decent. Any views/experience?

Our king size bed came from Marks and Spencer in the sale. The firm mattress is all natural fibres with an integral down topper and is sooo comfortable and conducive to sleep. The base is a four drawer divan but the drawer mechanism has not stood the test of time (about 7 years old) and we'll replace that elsewhere when we can go and browse. The headboard was from a small independent company. The M&S part was about £800. Highly recommended.

Our spare bed came from Benson's for Beds but I would never buy there again. Weeks late delivery with no explanation or apology, meaning my parents, who were expecting to sleep in it, had to book a B&B at short notice. It was the same with the other bedroom furniture we bought from them. Terrible customer service.

We would definitely buy another M&S mattress though.
