Twin boys - smelly loo!

I have 4 year old boys whose aim isn't always true but for some reason I have noticed the loo really smelling of stale urine recently. I am cleaning it with Dettox spray every day and the fresh smell lasts for the rest of the day but by the next day it stinks again. Loo has laminate floor and am cleaning in loo, around outside and the floor. What's going on?! Are they just doing it every day??

Is there any space between the bottom of the loo and the lino? Maybe there's been seepage under the lino, which would explain stale smell?

We've just had to rip our laminate up in the bathroom for exactly the same reason - it was sealed around the loo but the badly aimed wee still got down and into the boards underneath.
After pulling it up i soaked the area in zoflora and left it to dry and it seems to have cured it now -needless to say, we're having lino this time!

Try behind the loo too, my 4 yr old aims too high and hits the hinges!!! It then ends up behind the toilet (the toilet is open at the back - does that make sense??? ie where the soil pipe goes in) I always make sure I clean inside that area. Clean skirting boards and everything surrounding the toilet.

I too have laminate flooring, NEVER again.

Ours was pongy likie that too but we found that the seal was leaking.

It could well be because of the flooring you have though if there are gaps that can collect the drips.

My teenage DS is 6ft tall, so from that height there is a helluva lot of splash! I find the hinges the worst and they are actually going green. No answer really.
