Anyone care to join me? I'm doing this next week.

I do regular TOMM and this week I’m decluttering. There is no way I would get all those things on the TOMM list done on one day - I have too much to get rid of.

Thatwentbadly · 18/02/2021 12:54

Which day are you starting with?

BallsToYouSue · 18/02/2021 12:59

I'll start on Monday! I used to follow TOMM, but have fallen behind and I need bootcamp! Going to do this and revert to normal TOMM after, with times so I'm not cleaning all the damn time.

Hi are you still doing this @BallsToYouSue ?
I am starting on this today.

BallsToYouSue · 22/02/2021 10:19

Yes! Glad to have some company!

Bootcamp is much needed here.

I think I'm going to do it in bursts today, so not all at once, as I have some other bits to do today.

I'm going to be mixing it up with some clutter buster too!

BallsToYouSue · 22/02/2021 10:54

Oh spicing things up there, you saucy devil Wink. Yes, I might do a bit of that too! Do the rooms as they come up in the cleaning schedule.

OP posts:
MagdasMadHouse · 22/02/2021 11:17

Exactly! I've not had a proper deep clean since before Christmas, so the clutter has mounted up. I've basically just been doing bathrooms, kitchen and hoovering. I can cruise along like that for a few weeks, but now the chaos has taken over! I can't just do the clutter buster on its own because the cleaning is more of a priority though

MagdasMadHouse · 22/02/2021 11:20

Do you have a time of day you plan to do yours? I'm about to start on the lounge properly, done some laundry and sorted the kids out, done a bit of gardening while they played. Don't know how the time goes.
Usually I have to clean in the evenings, but today I have some actual day time hours!

BallsToYouSue · 22/02/2021 11:37

Yes, I have one home learning here at the minute, so I need to give her her lunch and then will make a start! Also need to get to the shops at some point.

MagdasMadHouse · 23/02/2021 07:48

Made a good start but didn't finish. Had some life drama to deal with and stroppy DC! Will be finishing the lounge and starting on the bedrooms today. How did you get on?

MagdasMadHouse · 23/02/2021 16:11

Lounge finished, doing the bedrooms now.

BallsToYouSue · 23/02/2021 16:15

Hey Magda!

I have done my living room, but can't find my mop to mop the floors HmmConfused. DH must have used it upstairs, although he doesn't usually mop!

Anyway, I've taken all the bedding off and need to hoover and dust the bedrooms. Will put the bedding back on before bedtime.

AiryFairy1 · 23/02/2021 16:20

Hmmm I might start this whenever my darling children are back at school in a couple of weeks.

MagdasMadHouse · 23/02/2021 17:26

Nearly finished one kids room. Haven't even started mine, and will have to help eldest who is a chaos monster

MagdasMadHouse · 25/02/2021 17:53

How are you getting on @BallsToYouSue ?
I've basically failed to do much at all yesterday and today, need to get back on it! The DC have been difficult though.

BallsToYouSue · 25/02/2021 17:55

Yes, similar here magda Blush. I also need to get back on it tomorrow and try to catch up. If not, there's always the weekend!

OP posts:
MagdasMadHouse · 25/02/2021 18:02

Yes I'm like 2.5 days behind right now so definitely will have a busy weekend. Am going to keep repeating it I think until I'm ready to switch to normal TOMM so if I miss bits then I can do it when I go back round. It's a lot with trying to juggle everything, be easier when life gets more back to normal.

MagdasMadHouse · 25/02/2021 18:02

But equally I don't want to be stuck in the house when we can actually go places!

BallsToYouSue · 25/02/2021 18:04

Yeah, I agree. One of mine will be back at school 🤞, from 8th March, all being well. That will make a big difference. Struggling to find the time (or motivation) to anything more than general, basic cleaning at the moment tbh!

OP posts:
MagdasMadHouse · 25/02/2021 18:15

Yeah I know what you mean but it's also getting my down the place now being in order. It's a balancing act though. I am all about self care right now, so I am just not punishing myself in any way. So I make plans to get jobs done, but if that has to go to hell because the DC need me, or I need an early night, or some pampering, or to put my feet up for a bit, then so be it. At the moment I'm finding it really busy and stressful in a way, no alone time and peace and quiet, but also nothing fun or exciting either. Strange times, I'll be happy when things are more back to normal.

BallsToYouSue · 25/02/2021 18:23

Totally agree with everything you just said! It's the lack of time to yourself. Ugh tough times. Seriously considering hiring a cleaner, but that seems excessive and anyway, I really need a full time housekeeper Grin

OP posts:
MagdasMadHouse · 25/02/2021 18:25

Yeah I know what you mean! It's been worse in lockdown though because we don't go anywhere the house just gets out of control.

BallsToYouSue · 25/02/2021 18:44

Exactly! And it's been hard to just send dcs into the garden with cold weather. When they do go in the garden now, they come back caked in mud and the little one forgets to take off his boots. Maybe I'll just move somewhere hot!

OP posts:
MagdasMadHouse · 25/02/2021 21:17

My house is permanently muddy! As are my children, every shoe any of us own, the buggy, most of the clothes and coats (within 5 mins of being put on!)

If I never go on a muddy walk for the rest of my life I will be happy!
