How can I wash this cardigan?

Took DS for his first vaccinations this morning and everyone at the clinic was cooing over him and his outfit, which was lovely as we never go anywhere or see anyone, until he promptly vomited down his cardigan.

It was handmade by a friend's mother, and I love it. What's the best way to clean it properly without ruining it? I have some Eucalan, the lavender one.

20 degree delicate wash in the machine then hang to dry on a radiator?

Hand wash. Then lay out flat on a clean, dry towel. Roll up and squeeze to get the excess water out. Do not wring the garment.
Lay flat to dry, Pat into shape. Do not iron as that makes the pattern flatten.
You could ask from what yarn it was made. It may well be machine washable on a 40deg cycle and tumble dryer friendly.

If in doubt stick to the former method to avoid shrinkage, felting and bobbling!

Btw. It is gorgeous!

It's beautiful isn't it! I love the colour. It has a matching hat too.

Thanks for the advice, I'll give hand washing it a go, I'd hate to mess it up in the machine

if it is wool don't dry it on a radiator unless you want a nice cardigan for a small teddy bear.
