Removing wax from slate

I've had a large amount of candle wax spilled onto the slate hearth. I'll try to attach a photo but looking for advice on how best to remove it.

Put kitchen roll down, a couple of layers, then iron on top of the kitchen paper to melt the wax which will be absorbed by the kitchen roll. After all the wax has gone hot soapy water to get rid of the residue.

Melt it. Got a hairdryer?

Brown paper over the wax, iron it and it should lift the wax and stick it to the brown paper.

If you do it with kitchen roll the wax will soak through the kitchen roll and make a mess of your iron (I've done it).
