My flat stinks!!!!!!!! What to do

So my my flat absolutely stinks. It's a relatively new flat (rented) but the past few months, there has been a really bad smell coming from the sink (more like under the sink). I've tried everything- bicarb, mr muscle products, cleaning the pipes. Whenever the washing machine or dishwasher are on, the smell gets worse. Also, the insinkerator doesn't work so I'm not sure if that could be the issue

I bet any money it's a gone off potato somewhere! They absolutely stink!!

Yes check that a potato hasn't rolled under an appliance.

Could it be drains? What floor are you on?

We're on first floor. There was a blockage a while ago but since then it's been like this

My guess would be that the drain is blocked and that is related to the broken insinkerator.
Your LL should send a plumber asap.
Have you asked your neighbours if they are affected?

If the insinkerator isn't working, and the smell is from that area, it looks like a likely culprit - could something be jammed and rotting in there, and the water movement when washing machine/dishwasher are working, sends wafts of smell back up?

Could it be a dead rat? We had one last November, under the floorboards, can't get to it without breaking up the tiled floor. It reeks. 🤮🤮

You need to get the landlord to sort out the incinerator, probably old food is stuck there.

I had this and it was a dead rat. Absolutely hands down the most disgusting smell ever. 🤢
