Advice on wool duvet

Bought myself a medium wool duvet a couple of months ago and have two problems with it.

  1. It seems very hot. I'm wondering if that's me and I need to get the lighter one. Did anyone else find the medium too hot?
  1. I think I might be allergic to it. I have wool carpets and wear wool and have never had any allergies before but now I'm waking up every day feeling as though I have a cold coming and a blocked nose.

I called the company and they said it's fine to exchange but I'm worried about the light one being too cold in the winter. And if I am allergic, then don't want to exchange anyway. I looked up wool allergies and it says they are rare!!

Very confused. Any advice?

If you're hot get a lighter one and you can layer up with blankets. Do you have a spare duvet. Swap it for a week and see if you feel better. I got a wool one cause of allergies but had zero impact on my allergies for better or worse. I think I prefer my feather duvets to wool so now it lives in spare bedroom but I prefer ot to feel of synthetic

I really liked my feather one as well, it's a goose down 13 tog and I never felt too hot with it so was really confused as to why I was boiling with a medium wool one. I thought the wool was supposed to be heat regulating.

I'll get back in contact with the company and discuss a return I think. I'll see how I feel with my feather one after a week, that's a great idea. Many thanks.
