I've tried to look online and everything that shows up is in relation to mouldy older silicone.
My bathroom has just been refitted and we have a 1000mm wall-hung basin with a long strip of white silicone along the back. The silicone has bits of dirt and dust collecting on top, maybe drifting in from other parts of the house that are still getting renovated. When I tried to scrub a patch with a cloth, a layer came off the silicone and made it look really messy and somehow even more dirty looking. Is this normal or should I ask the fitter back to redo it?
It has had over a week to dry, so surely it can't be wet? What's the best method for cleaning silicone in general?. It seems like if I put any pressure on it, I'll end up scrubbing it all off. I also have black taps, so have to be careful with the chemicals I use near them.
I can't recall ever having this problem before! Any advice will be appreciated!
