Stupid mistake with dishwasher

I have just moved to a house with a dishwasher. My first dishwasher, sad person that I am! I have just put the salt in the rinse aid compartment. Goodness knows how I made such a stupid mistake. Can anyone tell me what to do pleeeeeeeeease.

Scoop out as much salt as you can and pour in water to dissolve what's left. Salt goes in a compartment on the floor of the dishwasher usually. You unscrew the lid and fill it up
