Rodent problem

Can hear a distinct gnawing/scratching sound this evening but from an internal
wall between the lounge and kitchen. Can't see a gap that a rodent would be likely to fit through so not sure how it has got in. Unless it's trying to come up through the floorboards. Can you deter mice/rats or am I already too late? 🤔

They can get through the tiniest of gaps, we had an issue once...

We put traps down which did nothing then poison, I know some people won’t agree but we were in a terrace and they were getting in the eaves from house to house and there was no other way

Glad to see this thread I had to get rodent man out today. They had eaten pipes on washing machine. He said they could do I TV and n a couple minutes and not to get fixed to I was sure they all gone.
He put traps around the house and in attic
Heard trap going off in the attic
He is coming back Tuesday to check traps
He said poison is dangerous if you have animals or live in country.

Interesting, I guess pest control is an option. The scratching was so loud and I definitely heard feet. Got 2 little dogs so can't put traps out.

They can squish themselves in through the tiniest of holes. Just call a rodent control person in. It's way easier than trying it yourself and they'll take care of it quickly. They'll also be able to see and seal off the entry points as they're more experienced in knowing where to look. They should also be able to help you figure out how to avoid any more coming in, though it might not be anything in the house that's attracting them. I got mice once because construction outside displaced them and they found my house as the closest new home.

Thanks for the replies. We do live pretty near a pub actually which could explain it. I'll be listening out for the scratching again later. Skin crawling just thinking about it 😫
