So my eldest child must have pooped themselves and it's delightfully been put in the laundry pile and not checked and washed.

Now all my clothes smell like poop. Had to clean it out of the rubber.

Will it ever be right?
How the hell will I get the stink away.

So annoyed

Run through a hot wash with zoflora to improve the smell.
How horrible for you!

nimbuscloud · 07/01/2021 08:26

Steep them all in hot water first maybe
Then do smaller washes with Dettol laundry cleaner. Hopefully that will work

AwkwardPaws27 · 07/01/2021 08:26

Stick the machine on a 90c cycle (empty), with white vinager if you have it. That should get rid of the smell.
Then rewash the clothes - maybe add some disinfectant to the wash.

What a great thread title. I agree with cleaning the drum - mine has a specific 90 Degree cleaning cycle but otherwise as hot as you can with some white vinegar. Then maybe do a test wash of a non-stinky tea towel and see if that comes ok. If it does you know the machine is then ok and you can re-wash the clothes. In the meantime hang the clothes outside if possible to air them. Doesn’t matter if they get wet as they’re being re-washed anyway.

dementedpixie · 07/01/2021 08:31

And maybe use disinfectant to clean the rubber seal and inside of the drum.

It's so bad.
I thought it was just a damp smell.
Had it on 4 90degree washes, each with a different powder/remedy before thinking it wasn't clearly just mould.

Bloody kids.
I usually check every pair of pants but I'm pregnant and do just threw stuff in.
I'll not do that ever again.

It's been scrubbed in hot water and fabric softener around the seal, it's on another 90 wash and husband is going to dettol it.
All the tea towels and baby clothes and everyone's bloody socks and pants need redoing as I did a couple of washes before realising.

Absolutely great.
Have kids they said, it'll be fun.

I have a child with toileting issues so I find this quite often. Run an empty very hot wash with dettol antibac liquid. Thoroughly clean right around the door, trim etc and let it dry thoroughly.
If clothes still smell, wash in small loads with plenty of bio washing powder and fabric conditioner. Dry outside if possible.
Any tea towels, towels etc need to go on the hottest wash possible but only once rectified or you'll have poo transferred everywhere. I feel your pain, I am used to this sadly!

It’s been said already, but I’ll say it again Smile clean the door seal separately.

Suaf · 11/01/2021 03:37

Thanks.
Husband dettol and scrubbed seal again.
Now clothes come out smelling fresh.
Thank God.
Thought I was going to have to bin the machine.
