Shark duo clean or Miele complete c3

Make the decision for me. I’m tired of looking at reviews. I’ve narrowed it down to these two. I want something corded - big house a 20 minute battery won’t do. Long hair and pets. I don’t care that the Miele has a bag. One of the reasons I’m getting rid of our Dyson is I can’t empty it without sneezing. I think the Shark has some kind of filter that might help with that? Most importantly I want something that will clean. The Dyson is a piece of crap and our floors look awful.

Which one should I buy?

I prefer the Shark - I like no bags and that the bin can be washed. I also prefer uprights. I like the way the canister lifts off so stairs are easier and you can go under beds etc. The anti hair wrap cutters work. Most parts can be washed in hot soapy water and dry quickly in the sun or near a radiator.

I don't like ... the way that the canister falls over although it's easy enough to carry it around, that you can't take out the brush and scrub it. The bin is small, but I've learned to like the way that it means it's emptied frequently.

The Miele was fine although I didn't like the way it would get stuck behind a door as I went round downstairs - just a thing with cylinders. Bags expensive and wasteful. Also since dealing with moths, I like the idea that it's all tipped into the dustbin and not sitting there in a bag. Couldn't do all stairs without having to unplug and take upstairs.

Finally, after vacuuming with the Miele, I used the new Shark which picked up a bin full of stuff the Miele had missed. That may have been due to the age of the Miele, but it convinced me that the Shark was for me.

Ooh interesting thank you. I was veering towards the Miele but you are right about the bags being wasteful.

Any other thoughts?

I've had both and much prefer the Miele, so much easier to manovere, I found the Shark so heavy and cumbersome although it does have a powerful suction, I accidentally bit my hand with it!

love my c3!! Have had 2 years and wouldn't be without it!! Bags are expensive though.

I’ve just bought a shark to replace my Miele and I won’t bother again. It cleans ok, but it doesn’t make sense to me to have to wave the heavy bit about to clean stairs, picture rails etc.
