Is it really necessary to wash duvet cover before use?
Just spilled something on mine and i had thrown others out as had 2 new ones
So only one i have has to put on bed
Its not creased and doesn't overly smell chemicall , bit new smell but window open
Does everybody wash them before use ? I just don't have time to wash and dry

I always wash new clothing and bedding because the chemicals that are sprayed on them for shipment are horrendous.

LeaveMyDamnJam · 26/12/2020 20:31

Always. They spray fabric with chemicals to stop fungal growths in the package.

Yes, I do. I thought they had starch on them so they look crisp out of the packet.

Unless it's very dark coloured and likely to bleed colour into the quilt/ sheet / your skin, it will be fine. However I find them more comfortable after a wash, so might put the one thats not going on the bed in to wash straight away, then change the bed again once it's dried, then it's only for 1 or 2 nights anyway.

@ForeverBubblegum thats a good idea will use for tonight and have a sheet under and then wash other one and dry tomorrow and swap over again

I never used to wash new things I bought but my daughter has now worked in two large stores and she says they just repackage returns that are she says are sometimes grubby so I now wash it all x
