Defrosting freezer with not much visible ice...

Been instructed to defrost freezer at rental flat before we hand back the keys. So I decided to do it this afternoon. Which turned into after 5 pm. This is also my first time defrosting a freezer.

There wasn't much visible ice on it. So after looking online I tried a plastic scraper and hairdryer and got some pieces of ice and also it started dripping into the baking tray I'd put down.

Do you think there's likely to be much more ice to come? It still feels cold inside but apart from the water that's collected in the bottom it doesn't seem too bad.

I did end up having to mop up some water that deemed to be coming out of the vents but it might have come from the bit above instead? Or is that something that I need to watch out for?

I need to get home and make dinner soon so not sure how long I should stay.. Thanks.

I can't see any ice, just some water droplets. If I leave am I likely to come back to a huge puddle on the floor tomorrow?! Confused

I think mines Neff. But I've had defrost horrors before.

If there's not much ice and you've never defrosted it before, it could be a frost-free freezer. Does it ever make loud cracking noises?

WTF0ver · 20/12/2020 00:09

I haven't noticed cracking noises but we were only there 2 months.

Probably just not much ice build up then! Smile

Meant to update, I checked earlier and it was fine! Smile
