Toilet Seat

I have a white plastic toilet seat that to look at appears spotless.

It’s cleaned regularly (at least a daily wipe) and although it isn’t discoloured or stained, when the light shines across at a particular angle, you can see what looks like water marks/spots on the surface.

What could have caused this? I would have expected urine or anything else “untoward” to have left a coloured mark or stain. Would urine or water damage the surface finish?

Could it be scale from wiping if you have hard water, we get it on our draining board

Hi, thanks for your reply

I did wonder about scale, but the surface is smooth. The marks are almost like something has been sprinkled or sprayed on the surface.

I’m did wonder if the surface had become etched in some way.
