Towels - where do you buy yours?

I’m looking to replace some towels which have seen better days.

Any recommendations?

It’s been ages since I bought any, so not sure where I will find good quality at a decent price. Is under £15 for a bath sheet realistic?!

Hoping to get different colours for each family member, so colours that don’t run or fade would be great.

Christy towels are the best imo. You may get them half price on brand alley or in the sale but they are normally around £40 each. Worth it, though - dont fade and last years

I get the primark one , but I get there Luxury range.

It might be worth buying a few different types and seeing which type you like best.

Sainsburys are reasonably priced and very good quality

John Lewis. Had mine for years and they still wash and dry well.

Costco here - the bales of white handtowels (12) and bathtowels (6)

Not too thick , wash/dry well, good quality for price
I am looking out for bathsheets but they only have Christy at the moment

Last year I bought some bath sheets from Designers Guild in the January sales. They are lovely: www.designersguild.com/uk/thirlmere-ocean-towels/p33915

I got Primark ones several years ago and they are still great. I only bought a couple in a pinch and was so impressed I’ve bought nothing else since.

I only buy white towels though so can’t vouch for their colours

Great thread OP, I am looking to buy some new towels, been really disappointed with John Lewis & M&S towels recently.

TodgerStrunk · 28/12/2020 17:45

Really disappointed with the quality of JL recently. My March Costco hand towels still look brand new, the JL ones from last Jan sales are raggedy and faded.

StartingGrid · 28/12/2020 17:56

M&S Egyptian cotton ones are lovely.

MissKhan1990 · 28/12/2020 17:57

Got some lovely bath sheets from qd 2 for 10. Very soft and hood quality

MuttsNutts · 28/12/2020 18:02

Dunelm Ultimate range are the best towels I’ve ever had - better than much more expensive brands.

They are currently on sale at £16 for a bath sheet.

TKMaxx have loads of bargain towels by Christy and the like.

Tightwad2020 · 28/12/2020 18:30

Haven't tried these specific ones, OP, but I have a couple of Turkish peshtemals/hammam towels, and they're brilliant. Need a few washes to soften, but once they're worn in, they are soft and absorbsent, and they dry very quickly. I will be replacing my towels with this type as they wear out. The prices look very good too

Ok, ok, who just stole my bargain towels from my TKMaxx basket? Come on, own up. Next time I'm going to remember to complete my purchase BEFORE sharing a tip Xmas Biscuit = me
