What style of rug looks classy and timeless?

We have a grey sofa, duck egg colours and wood flooring. What kind of rug would look classic, tasteful and timeless. I'd be looking at shops like Dunelm etc as I don't have a big budget. Any pics would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I really don't think there is any such thing as timeless. One persons 'classic' is another persons 'dull' and another person's Instagram 'trendy.'

The colours you describe are lovely but not classic. No one used duck egg 5 years ago and no one will be using it in another 5 years. My DD currently has her bedroom duck egg, silver and grey. It's beautiful but it's very fashionable. In a few years time it will look very dated.

Buy a rug you can afford and that you think will look beautiful in your room. The colours are immaterial. In a few years time it will be tired and worn and you will be ready to move on something different.

I'd go Persian, tying together the colours of the room, but I am not known for style tbh.

I think Persian style is the only type of rug that is timeless. One with a pale blue in but other colours too would work in your room

These are from Rug Warehouse, but I see Wayfair has plenty too.
